It is simply a “stitching” together of multiple themes in one file to make an entire new theme. I am not seeking a lawsuit. I am only taking credit for packaging and distributing the theme. STEPS:

1. Get the theme zip and SSH into your iPhone/iPod touch. For instructions on theme installation, see here
2. Get these things:
   • Backgrounder (thru Cydia)
   • ProSwitcher (thru Cydia)
   • Infinidock (thru Cydia [for free using the "http://cydia.xsellize.com/" repo])
   • Shrink on 75% with the dock reflections (thru Cydia [for free using the "http://cydia.xsellize.com/" repo])
   • BatteryControl (thru Cydia)
   • Black Navigation Bars (activated thru Winterboard which is available in Cydia)
   • No Docked and Undocked Icon Labels (activated thru Winterboard)
   • MakeItMine (thru Cydia) to change the upper left hand corner’s status bar text
   • (Optional) If you don’t want to the wallpaper packaged in the theme, enable User Wallpaper ABOVE the Simple iPad Theme

But today I will be reviewing the app TextNow. I am about ready to buy the full version because I have been using the lite version for about a week now. I must say that this blows all of the other texting apps out of the water! I have used Textfree and TextPlus both. TextPlus was WAY to slow for my taste and after getting Google Voice, Textfree wasn’t good enough. One of the biggest reasons for getting this app was for its Google Voice integration. Simply this along made it great! I love me some GV. Use it so much. Only way to using on my iPod was with the Safari web app. Kinda annoying. But with TextNow, Google Voice became easily accessible to me. With the address they give you, it works just as well. The push notifications blew both Textfree and TextPlus out of the water. I texted my girlfriend then started the timer for her response (I did call her to see when she sent the text). TextNow came first every single time.

So here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

• Speed: So fast. Way faster than the other two apps
• Interface: Very clean cut. So simple to use and pick up on
• Experience: I love the speed of the push notifications and overall usability of the app.
• Horizontal keyboard: Speaks for itself. We all know of the standard portrait iPhone/iPod keyboard…
• Custom address: If you don’t have Google Voice to use, TextNow gives you a free @textnow.me address for your friends to text you at! Pretty cool.

Cons:

• Price: I know how texts work but I really have a bone to pick with their $0.99 for 3 months of texting. It is good but then to get lifetime, it is $7.99. It is better than Textfree’s $5.99 a year but most teenagers who will use this don’t have money like that floating around. Maybe that is just me…

Really, I only don’t like the price. Everything else is amazing about this app. GET IT! It is so good

Now many people use the iPhone and iPod touch included me. If you are also like me you LOVE watching YouTube videos. I use it to look up how to do things, download music with this tool, watch crazy people do crazy things and much more. And I do most of it with the iPod touch’s native app. Now there are a few things wrong with it and here they are:

1. You can’t view your inbox. I love to read messages with all of my suggestions, messages between friends and messages when you have a new comment. However you can’t do that on the YouTube app.
2. You can’t view users profiles. I hate it because I hear a name in a video and they say “go check this person out!” I would if I could. And you might wanna see who is subscribed to that person, view their comments and maybe see their friends.
3. You can’t search for users. Kinda goes along with 2
4. No annotations. Now this kinda seems resonable but it can be annoying to view a video on the iPod and then watch it on your computer and see that there are a freaking bazillion annotations. It would be nice if there were annotations on the iPod/iPhone.
5. The links in the video subscrition aren’t accessible. You can’t open them. Sometimes it is a user’s profile, a user’s website, another video and others. It is annoying when you want to open the links and you can’t get to them!
6. Copy, Cut and Paste don’t work. It would be helpful to copy the links I described in 5

This app allows you to command a fighter jet where you battle other jets. You use your iPhone/iPod accelerometer to control pitch and roll. It is very easy to use and play. As you go on you play on you earn more jets. For $0.99 you really get your money’s worth. To get more info on the app visit SGN’s website. I hope you will enjoy this app as much as I do.

1. AOL Instant Messenger (AIM): This is a great application because so many people have it. With iPhone 3.0, you notified of IM even when you aren’t in the app! This can be handy because you might be browsing the Web and someone wants to chat. Without this feature you might not even realize they IMed you until they are offline. You can also text people for free. However the person must allow you to receive texts from them before they start receiving them. If you are on the Web then they also offer a web version called AIM Express. This app is free!

2. Textfree: If you are like me and absolutely love texting then you will love this app. We all know that texting can get pretty pricey so this app is for everybody. This app allows you to send text messages to any mobile number in the US for free. No questions asked. This app will run you at $5.99 however if you bought it after June 17, 2009 then that is only a year of texting. You must renew it every year, so I have heard. This app also supports Push Notifications.

3. Facebook: If you aren’t using Facebook then you must be living under a rock. Facebook is currently the most popular social networking site out there and they offer a complementary iPhone app for their users. It allows you to view status updates, view profiles, comment, view comments, chat with people, view your inbox and so much more! This app is free but does not currently support Push Notifications.
