Latest and greatest iPod app: TweetDeck

Well after a great week at camp in California, I am back home free to do anything until school starts on August 10th. I am dreading that BUT… I found a great new Twitter app: TweetDeck. Now I talked a little while back about using either Twitterrific or TwitterFon then a certain person commented telling me to check out TweetDeck. I used TweetDeck a little while ago for Windows and found it good and I wanted to try the iPhone app. So I did and it is amazing! The UI is awesome! I love the customizable columns and the little updates box. If you have a Mac, Windows, Linux or an iPhone/iPod touch and a Twitter account, use this application! You will love it! It will satisfy!

De-jailbreak

Well I realized that I had voided my warranty by jailbreaking my iPod touch so this morning after backing up my contacts, photos, music, videos, and app data WITHOUT iTunes I did a DFU restore, thus elimating all traces of my jailbreak placing me back under Apple’s warranty. It has actually be kinda nice. However the first iTunes sync is an absolute nightmare because it adds everything back onto your iPod, making it extremely long. This entire process took me 2 hours! Ah well. I have been trying to decide on one Twitter app. I have narrowed it down to two: Twitterrific and TwitterFon. Which one do you like best? Comment or email me telling me your opinion on each app! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter!

San Diego Annual Trip!

Every year my family and I go to Oceanside, a little town just north of San Diego. We go to the beach and camp in a little campground 20 minutes from the beach. So this week we did just that! We went to the beach Monday and Tuesday. Then we planned to go to the U.S.S. Midway on Wednesday but bought tickets to the Coaster before looking at the schedule. The train had left twenty minutes ago and there wasn’t another one for four hours. We went up to the district office and requested a reticket for the next day. So we went to the Midway the next day. Then we came home today. All in all the trip was fantastic! I was eaten alive by bugs and got a hundred bug bites and a severe rash from my swimsuit but it was a really great and family oriented trip!

First theme for Cydia

Hello and here is my first theme from Cydia called Stiches. I have called it this because I took a bunch of packages that I personally used and modified them to fit into one awesome theme. So I have created this:

Stiches lockscreen

Stiches homescreen

I am currently working to get it into a source but for now you can download the zip and SSH it into your phone to use.

Features:

This theme sports
1. An awesome background
2. A Tap To Unlock instead of a slider
3. A Firefox Safari theme
4. Signal bars instead of Wi-Fi bars.
5. A dark user interface.
6. iPhone 3.0 icons!
7. A clear lockscreen
8. A Blue Flame battery
AND MUCH MORE!

How to install the theme:

1. Connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer. Go into Settings > Wi-Fi and select your Wi-Fi network. Copy your IP address. You will use it later.

Wi-Fi Settings Screen

IP Address!

2. Open your standard Windows SSH client. For this demonstration I will be using WinSCP. YOU MUST BE JAILBROKEN FOR THIS TO WORK! Check out this video if you have an iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 1G or iPod touch 2G for jailbreak instructions. For iPhone 3G S check out this one for Windows or this one for Mac to jailbreak! You also MUST have OpenSSH from Cydia.

3. Put in your IP Address for the IP address and the username is root and the password is “alpine”. Enter those in!

WinSCP start up

4. Hit Login.
5. Download the Stiches files and unzip them.
6. Navigate your client from /private/var/root to /private/var/stash/Themes. Click on images to enlarge.

Drag the Stiches V4 and hit Copy

7. Drag the Stiches folder into the Themes folder and hit Copy
8. Open up WinterBoard (free download in Cydia) and select the Stiches V4 folder. THERE YOU GO!
